I was quite worried that it would leak - either from the ice reserve or the ice cream cylinder, but we really haven't had any trouble to speak of. We filled it too full on one occasion and there was some leakage after the cream began to freeze and expand, but this was easily fixed by removing just a tad of the cream. We use a plain old kitchen butter knife to scrape the sides and it works well. One warning. Do NOT overtighten the lids. My daughter loves to concoct the recipes but I would not recommend having the kids tighten it. She tightened it with the tool that comes with it and then broke the tool. My husband had to go to the garage to find instruments of destruction to get it open. Have an adult tighten it by hand and use the tool to open it if necessary. I cannot find a replacement tool anywhere, so be careful with it. All in all, a very fun and delicious way to enjoy your dessert. |
